This 1949 Murray Torpedo pedal car is a rotisserie restoration of a southern car that was found in rubbish pile after Hurricane Katrina.
It was a rust-free example that was amazingly intact despite the battering it had received. The owner stripped and sandblasted the body, and repainted it using base and clear coat and colour sanding it. The chrome was triple-plated, and the tyres, seat pad, pedals and decals were all replaced.
It’s now a dream piece finished to concours standard.
