Ferrari’s 2006 Formula 1 car was a technical tour de force matched only by the Renault of Fernando Alonso. Michael Schumacher battled Alonso throughout the season, with both drivers winning seven races each. Alonso outscored Schumacher on points, however, thus taking the driver’s and constructor’s title, with Schumacher and Ferrari close behind.
Chassis No. 254 was driven by Michael Schumacher to a total of nine finishes and eight podiums, including five wins in 2006, his final season as a Ferrari driver in Formula 1. Its 2.4-litre V8 engine produces 785bhp at 19,000rpm, and it weighs just 600kg (1320 lbs). Its results were as follows:
San Marino Grand Prix (Imola) 1st 23 April 2006
