Lotus has always been known for its groundbreaking innovations, and the Evija continues that tradition by being the very first all-electric British hypercar.
With a target power output of 2000PS and weight of just 1680kg, the Evija is expected to achieve a top speed of over 200mph and 0-62 mph in under three seconds.
It’s built in ultra-lightweight carbon fibre monocoque, which means it’s currently the world’s lightest production EV hypercar, and it’s expected to have a driving range of up to 250 miles. It features many state of the art features, particularly the aerodynamics, made possible by the shape and placement of the electric motors and mid-mounted batteries. Even the headlights are innovative, being the world’s first main- and dipped-beam laser lighting.
Production has now started at Lotus’ famous headquarters in Hethel, Norfolk, where just 130 of the Evija will be hand-built. They’ll be sold for £17m each.
